Downtown Kingsport
Barred Owl
At about 1210 in front of 1st Presbyterian Church, a Barred Owl was
spotted in a leafless
dogwood tree. It was a very sunny midday, and this location is some distance
from anything
approaching "woods".
Perched approximately four feet above the ground, it was unruffled by
persons walking by just
a few feet away. Quite a number of congregants got a good look at this
impressive and beautiful
strigiform.
