Ed Burke: Yes, you are subscribed. Everyone who is reading this message is subscribed to Bristol Birds Net. Good to hear from you. I was birding just before dark Thursday at Quarry Bog in Shady Valley and saw what may have been a Peregrine Falcon. It was a very dark bird, quite large (compared to a Red-tailed Hawk in the foreground) and was flying with Holston Mountian in the background. It had lighter coloration underneath and was gaining height until it flew out into the sunset. It had falcon features. Allen Boynton told me that Thursday, Clyde Kessler of Radford, birded in Wythe County and saw 2 Golden Eagles, 50 to 75 American Pipits, 18 Red Crossbills and a probable Rough-legged Hawk. Let's go birding, Ed.....
