March 6, 2005 Greene County (numerous sites); Hawkins County (Van Hill to Rogersville via Highway 347; John Sevier Steam Plant (JSSP); to Greene County via Highway 70) A few good sightings this morning and late afternoon in Greene County, with a productive few hours in Hawkins County sandwiched in between-- Pied-billed Grebe (Greene County); Great Blue Heron (4 Hawkins County); Wood Duck (10 Greene County); Northern Shoveler (3 on Cartwheel Road in Greene County); Ring-necked Duck (9 at William Jenkins Bridge on Holston River along Highway 347 in Hawkins County); Lesser Scaup (7 at William Jenkins Bridge on Holston River along Highway 347 in Hawkins County); Northern Harrier (2 Greene County); Sharp-shinned Hawk (Greene County); Cooper's Hawk (Hawkins County); Red-shouldered Hawk (2 on Holston River in Hawkins County--1 at William Jenkins Bridge, 1 less than a mile downstream from JSSP); Red-tailed Hawk (6 Greene Co); American Kestrel (9 Greene County, 2 Hawkins County); Wild Turkey (101 Greene County, 3 Hawkins County); Ring-billed Gull (24 on Holston River in Hawkins County); Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (Greeneville); Winter Wren (Greene County); American Pipit (Greene County).
