Reece Jamerson, Gil Derouen, and I did some birding yesterday, Tuesday, July 28, in Western Washington Cty and some water areas in Sullivan Cty.
Highlights:
W. Washington Cty.

Hales Chapel Road:
Red-tailed Hawk 1
Red-headed Woodpecker at least 2, more likely 3 Most of the snags in this habitat area were knocked down earlier in spring, but we did find these birds (all mature) there yesterday.
E. Kingbird 1
Indigo Bunting 2

Fairview area, Horseshoe Bend Rd:
House Wren 2 bringing food to a bird house
Field Sparrow 1
E. Meadowlark 2

Sullivan County

Paddle Creek:
Red-tailed Hawk 1
Killdeer 4
Spotted Sandpiper 2
Solitary Sandpiper 2

Weir Dam:
Great Blue Heron 1

Rooty Branch Rd. beaver pond, Rooty Branch Rd., and Pemberton Rd.:
Wood Duck 1
Am. Kestrel 1

Musick's Campground:
Black Vulture 6

Middlebrook Lake:
Wood Duck 2
