Unicoi and western Washington Co., TN 

Cathy Myers and I spent the day birding in Unicoi County and western Washington 
County. We had a few good birds! 

In Unicoi County : 
Green Heron (6) - three nests on the Erwin Linear Trail 
Bald Eagle (1 adult) - Devil's Looking Glass 
Acadian Flycatcher (1) - Rock Creek Park 
Least Flycatcher (1) - calling incessantly; Erwin Linear Trail - between the 
two ponds behind McDonalds 
Common Raven (2) - Rock Creek Park 
Swainson's Warbler (1) - Rock Creek Park; between the entrance and the first 
fee station 
Rose-breasted Grosbeak (1) - Rocky Fork Road 


In western Washington County : 
Canvasback (1 female) - Clark Road Pond; looking very out-of-place 
Northern Harrier (2) - Thompson Lane 
Lesser Yellowlegs (1) - West View Ponds 
Warbling Vireo (1) - Bush Hog Pond 
Grasshopper Sparrow (1) - Bush Hog Pond 
White-crowned Sparrows (lots)
