The Bristol Bird Club honored birder Michele Sparks and her fifth grade science
students at Indian Springs Elementary School for their highly-successful
development
of the awareness of birds and to share that story on Bristol Birds Net
throughout
the year.

The 2010 Dr. Lee R. Herndon mentor award is funded by a grant of $1000 from
Dr. Don and Eula Coffey of Baltimore, MD. He is professor of pharmacology,
molecular science and pathology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and
was appointed by the President to a six-year term on the National Cancer
Advisory
Board. He received a $150,000 cash award from the Joy McCann Foundation
for exceptional mentoring. The BBC grant came from that money
and honors the mentoring of Dr. Coffey and his brother, Wallace Coffey, by
Lee R. Herndon.
