Carver's Gap
Roan Mountain, TN
.
This morning at quarter 'til 9 am I located '03 NOrtheast TEnnessee (NOTE)
Bird #199 by playing an E. Screech Owl rendition via MP3 player w/ external
speaker (Thanks to Rick Knight for aid in location and technique advice to find
this bird). The bird popped up behind the State Park Visitor Center along the
water trough that feeds the water wheel. Two D. Eyed Juncos accompanied the
Thrush.
Atop the mountain '03 NOTE Bird #200 (!!!) was a, befitting, life bird - 3
Purple Finches. Soon following was '03 NOTE Bird #201 - a single Fox Sparrow.
Present also were:
.
Red Crossbills - 10

White-throated Sparrows - 11
Common Raven - 7
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 10
