Don't forget to join us tomorrow for a great day of birding. The weather
forecast is looking good, the birds are pouring in, and Rob Biller is leading
the trip. It doesn't get any better than that. The following is Rob's post from
a few days ago. Hope to see you there. Larry McDaniel
We are having an early migrant field trip to the South Holston Valley on
Saturday, April 13th. We will meet at the Weir Dam (that's next to South
Holston Dam. I've birded that area the past 2 weekends and there are a bunch
already in with more coming in this week. Black-throated Green, Yellow-throated
Warbler, Black-and-White Warbler, Pine Warbler, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Northern
Rough-winged Swallow, Tree Swallow, and Blue-headed Vireo are all in. Hopefully
we'll hear and hopefully see all the one listed and find out what is new back
in the area!
Here are the areas I hope to cover and some optional birding after lunch if
anybody wants to keep going. The pizza place on 421, The Cave, is reopening
this week so we will go there if they were able to open successfully this week.
Hope to see you there.
