This Nature program segment aired last night on WBRA (PBS). It has a lot of great shots of raptors and a discusses the intricacies of flight and the unique features of the raptor's wings as well as other anatomical features that facilitate predator location. This is combined with shots of advanced aircraft and how features from the raptors are being used to allow improved performance. For the hawk migration watchers, there is a good segment on dynamic soaring with maned and unmanned gliders demonstrating techniques learned from birds such as the Turkey Vulture. This show will be aired again Thursday, Feb. 28th at 7:00 PM.
