On a trip to the Outer Banks & vicinity (North Carolina)
on 4 -7 Jan., I saw several interesting birds, including (in part):

Manx Shearwater - 1 (seen from the beach at Nags Head !!)
N. Gannet - dozens
Snow Goose & Tundra Swan - hundreds
Brant - 4
Com. Eider - 1, imm. male
Rough-legged Hawk - 1 (Alligator River NWR, on the mainland)
Purple Sandpiper - 3
Franklin's Gull - 1 (a "stake-out")
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 4
Short-eared Owl - 2 (also at Alligator River)
