I apologize for the long absence from Bristol-Birds. We have been very busy,
particularly due to the failing health of my mother-in-law (Polly's mom).
However, I have had a few moments outside looking for "yard birds." the most
interesting ones have been: Orange-crowned Warbler (10/02), Screech Owl (four
times between 10/05 and 10/31), Black-throated Green Warbler ((!0/08), Great
Horned Owl (10/09), Golden-crowned Kinglet (10/15), Ruby-crowned Kinglet
(10/19), Swamp Sparrow (10/20), Hermit Thrush (10/25), Pine Siskin about 20
(10/26),
2 Chipping Sparrows (10/26 to present), 3 Yellow-rumped warblers (10/28 to
present), female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (11/03). John Moyle , Glen Alpine
Road, Kingsport, Sullivan County
