Local Birders,
Harry Norman and I plan to carpool to go up to the Mendota Tower on Saturday,
September 15. We plan to meet at the Pinnacle in the parking lot of Dick’s
Sporting Goods, at 7:00 am and drive from there. We’ll try to stay all day.
Should you wish to join us, you can meet up with us there. The Pinnacle is
located off Interstate 1-81, Exit 74 B and I shall assume most locals don’t
need directions.
Bring your nourishment, sun screen, a sun hat and plenty of H2O. The hike to
the tower is a bit challenging, so if you have a walking stick, that can help.
If you cannot make it on the early side but can stay on the later side please
leave a message on my home phone (423.538.8225). I’m not sure how my eyes will
adapt to constant sun (after last year’s surgery) but I’m hoping for the best.
