Hi Birders:
The Mendota Hawk Watch is gaining momentum after a relatively slow start last
week. Here are the year-to-date totals as of September 13:

Broad-winged Hawk: 387
Sharp-shinned Hawk: 4
Cooper's Hawk: 2
Osprey: 6
Bald Eagle: 2
Goshawk: 1
Red-headed WP 5

Someone was at the tower for at least part of the day on September 5, 10, 12,
and 13. Participants so far include Bob Quillen, Mary Finucane, George
Larkin, Violet Larkin, and Ron Harrington. The two bald eagles and the goshawk
were
seen on Sunday, September 12 by Marion, George and Violet.

Hawk watching fever. Catch it and come join us on the mountain.
