On the central portion of the Greenbelt about 1 1/2 miles west of the American Way entrance, there is a pair of Yellow-crowned Night-Herons about 20 yards east of the footbridge near the 3.3 mile marker. At about 3.0 is a large nest reported being used by Red-shouldered Hawks. I did not observe the hawks. This area is across from the horse stables behind Rush Street Restaurant and the Boys and Girls Club on Stone Drive.

At American Way, there was a single Yellow-crowned Night-Heron. These were the only YCNH's seen on the Greenbelt between American Way and the Ravine Street
