The Lee & Lois Herndon Chapter of TOS (Elizabethton Bird Club) will hold
a field trip Sunday, 19 SEP 2004. The event is open to all, please join us.
There are two meeting times and places, one AM and one PM, in order to
accomodate everyone's Sunday schedule.
We will meet 8 am at Winged Deer Park in Johnson City, TN in the back
parking lot near the disc golf course, across the street from the boat ramp.
We
hope to see lots of migrant passerine activity.
Then after lunch, we will meet again 2 pm at Austin Springs Bridge,
parking on the Piney Flats (north) end of the bridge, where we will observe
from
the bridge for a little while before driving the short distance to the fields
behind the home of Gail and Vernon Humphreys. Shorebirds are a possibility
there.
Of course, everything depends on the weather. We pray all will be
spared disaster from the coming hurricane weather. If possible to do so
safely, we
will try to document unusual bird activities and occurences observed on our
field trip. In the event of high winds or heavy rain on Sunday, the field trip
will be cancelled.
Anyone wishing more detailed directions may e-mail me at
dnldhlt@xxxxxxx, or call me at (423) 914-5862.
