Over the weekend at home in Hampton, TN, the flock of American Goldfinches and Pine Siskins seemed to grow. When they all get together to party at the feeders, I'm conservatively estimating 100 birds (probably only about a dozen Pine Siskins, though). A single Fox Sparrow also lurked about all weekend. On Saturday afternoon, a trip to Rasar Farm in Elizabeethon, TN, did yield a Killdeer and two Common Snipe. On Sunday afternoon, on a whim while in Johnson City, TN, I checked out the VA theatre and was pleased to spot a Barn Owl roosting in the rafters along the side of the roof.
