At least 67 people from AR (1), AZ (2), CA (1), GA, NM (2), NC (4), SC (2),
and TN visited the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge in Meigs Co., TN today. Along with
hundreds of sandhill cranes, an Asian hooded crane was still present. Most
visitors also were able to see from 1-3 endangered whooping cranes. Folks from
AL, FL, KY, LA, MI, and TX have been to HWR in the past few days. A University
of the South professor brought 2 students from Russia today. A visitor from
Ecuador has been there on 2 occasions.
