Tonight John Hay, Roy Knipsel and I joined John & Polly Moyle to work out details of the Bristol Bird Club field trip schedule through the first half of 2010. John will publish the updated list very soon... Many thanks to John for all the work put into the club's activities to date! He's done an outstanding job of offering our membership everything from beginning field trips (5 last year) to international destinations like Panama, with lots of local birding opportunities in between. His assignment as VP in charge of field trips will expire this June, so we will have an opening for anyone interested in taking over this position. John Hay has volunteered to coordinate the scheduling of our meeting presenters, and is requesting that anyone who has suggestions for future lecturers get in touch with him. The presenter he has lined up for our February 16th meeting will be John Moyle, who will show slides culminating from eight of his trips to Kenya and Tanzania from 1985 to 2000 in a presentation entitled "Wildlife of the East African Savannah". The folks at the Bristol Public Library have apologized for all the audio visual malfunctions we've had in recent months. Their computer server will either be repaired or replaced before our February meeting. Janice Martin has offered to assist with the upcoming TOS/VSO joint meeting in 2012. We still need a Chairperson to volunteer to lead this committee. Compilations for the Bristol & Kingsport counts will be this Wednesday, January 27th at the Bristol Public Library from 7:30-9:30 pm.
