[Bristol-Birds] FRANKLIN'S GULL -- DRAMATIC NEW REGIONAL SPECIES NOW AT MUSICK'S CAMPGROUND

Rick Knight called at 2:48 p.m. today (Mon., 14 Oct 2013} to report that a
Franklin's Gull

has just been found by Brookie and Jean Potter at Musick's Campground on 

South Holston Lake in Sullivan Co., TN and Washington Co., VA.  This is the
first regional

record for the species in Northeast Tennessee.  It is the first Western
Virginia record

in a hundred years with the last being 22 Oct 1898 at Blacksburg., VA.
Rick said there

are other gulls which have just arrived.
