This afternoon (about 4 p.m.) I found a male Dickcissel on Berryhill Road in
southwestern Washington County. I heard him singing and had good looks. Also
heard and had good looks at Grasshopper Sparrows in the same area.

To get to Berryhill Road, take Hwy 11E west from Jonesborough. A few miles
west of Jonesborough, turn left on Washington College Road. Follow it past
West View School to Corby Bridge Road. Turn left on Corby Bridge Road. Veer
left onto Berry Hill Road, which is a dead end road. There is a large field of
uncut stuff (grasses and other plants) on the right. The Dickcissel was in
that field just beyond the house but before the road turns to the right and
goes down the hill. Grasshopper sparrows were in the same area and further
down the road.

I believe there were more than one Dickcissel in the area, but saw only one at
a time. Also, there were three Wood Ducks on the edge of the pond downhill to
the left as Berryhill Road turns to the right.
