Bristol Birders, This morning as I was standing in my backyard watching the migrants pass through, I heard a bird pass by within a couple of feet behind me, then it thumped loudly against the side of the house. I turned just in time to see it fall to the ground. It was a TN Warbler. It struck the wall at full speed and died almost instantly. I thought it was unusual that it struck a white wall with no window nearby. If the bird was being chased I didn't see the other bird. Other birds observed: Northern Parula 1 Yellow-throated Warbler 2 Black-throated Green Warbler 1 TN Warbler 10 Yellow-throated Vireo 1 Eastern Kingbird 2 Great-crested Flycatcher 1 Gray Catbird 1 Baltimore Oriole 3 (2 adults, 1 immature) Scarlet Tanager 3 Am Robin 20 Wild Turkey 13 Roger Mayhorn Grundy, VA ************************************************* BRISTOL BIRDS NET LIST This is a regional birding list sponsored by the Bristol Bird Club to facilitate communications between birders and bird clubs of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
