Michael,
I for one choose not to look at the past except to learn from it. I too
welcome all individuals willing to contribute to building a sound club
regardless whether they have been active in the past, voiced concerns only
recently or their interest is yet undiscovered. Lastly, I welcome differing
opinions as well as differing backgrounds. However, I will depart from that to
say that I find your comments to be more than tinged with disrespect for both
the living and the deceased. Although disagreement and discussion is very
healthy, this tone is not and only perpetuates what you claim to repudiate. I
welcome any commentary you have directly to me but I hope that further
statements of this nature will be withdrawn from this public forum.
Sincerely,
Rick Blanton

So from what I can gather, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I doubt I am, it
takes a lifetime member, that member being Wallace Coffey to pass away, that
no one seemed to like (except a select few), and then the club to almost
disband due to lack of interest, for birders to finally jump up and say hey
I’m interested in helping keep the club alive, just tell me where to sign up,
WOW, thats all I can say. I am not a member of the club and I really don’t
care what people think about my opinion, (even the ones that will respond to
my email with “your right we don't care”) but this is just plain sad. It’s
one of the reason I never joined the club to start with, to much DRAMA and
the "look at me complex". I truly hope the club comes through this without
the same issues it was plagued with because the community needs birding clubs
such as this, and the other clubs that are active in the region to include
Northeast Tn and Southwest VA. Just my opinion, like it or not, I believe
it's TRUE, but people will not admit it.

Thanks to everyone for providing life support to the Bristol Bird Club. What
a wonderful opportunity to spawn a new paradigm from a traditional platform.
I want to pitch in with the reorganization of the Bristol Bird Bird Club and
encourage former officers, leaders, and members help out also.
