We had a beautiful Beginners' field trip today.? The temp was comfortable and the sun was out.? We had a total of 3 "novices" for the day.? They were Rick Knight, Bill Grigsby and John Moyle.? We saw 34 species for the morning (3 hours)?as follows:?? Wood Duck (2 in flight), Great Blue Heron (1), Green Heron (3), Broad-winged Hawk (1), Red-tailed Hawk (1), Killdeer (2), Chimney Swift (~15), Downy Woodpecker (1), Hairy Woodpecker (2), Northern Flicker (3), Empidnonax flycatcher (1), Eastern Phoebe (2), Red-eyed Vireo (3), Blue Jay (5+), American Crow (2), Carolina Chickadee (12+), Tufted Titmouse (12+), Carolina Wren (~10), Golden-crowned Kinglet (1), Eastern Bluebird (10+), American Robin (~15), Brown Thrasher (4), Chestnut-sided Warbler (2), Magnolia Warbler (1), Black-throated Green Warbler (2), Yellow-throated Warbler (1),?American Redstart (4), Song Sparrow (3), Northern Cardinal (3), Indigo Bunting (20+),?Red-winged Blackbird (~20), Common Grackle (3), BALTIMORE ORIOLE ( 1), American Goldfinch (~10).?
