An account of the Bristol Bird Club members' field trip
to the Scales area of Pine Mountain in the
Mount Rogers National Recreation Area of the
Jefferson National Forest on 13 June 2015
reported that Judy Moose, Dick Moose
and Cathy Spencer had slung packs on
their backs and hiked off over
Stone Mountain for the afternoon.
Cathy has sent along the results of
what they found on that hike which
she says covered the First Peak trail:
Golden-crowned Kinglet 2
Vesper Sparrow 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler 2
Magnolia Warbler 1
Black-throated Green Warbler 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 2
Field Sparrow 1
The area is in Grayson County, VA.
