* ATLANTA BREWING / MELLOW MUSHROOM PRIZE ALE
Bogart Ale, Mellow Mushroom's private label pale ale, dominated the Carolina
Championship of Beer (CCB) at the recent Hickory Hops Festival, winning a gold
medal for "Best Bitter" and coming out ahead of 150 other southeastern beers to
be named "Best In Show." The only certified commercial beer competition in the
South, CCB evaluates beers brewed across the southeastern US and recognizes
outstanding examples of established styles. Mellow Mushroom, a Georgia-based
pizzeria chain, partnered with Atlanta Brewing Company to release Bogart Pale
Ale in November of 2008. The beer exhibits light caramel malt sweetness
balanced by a pleasant citrus hop aroma and flavor. "We always knew ABC created
something great with Bogart and are happy to see it acknowledged by experts,"
said Mellow Mushroom Marketing Director Michael Shemtov. "As the only provider
of Bogart Ale, we welcome everyone to visit Mellow Mushroom to try it yourself."

* HIGHWIRE PUB NOW OPEN IN ATHENS
The owners of Athens' famed Trappeze Pub have launched their new Athens venue,
Highwire (formerly Mercury Lounge). Highwire focuses on flavorful specialty
drinks made with small-batch, hand crafted liquors. Obviously, Highwire also
pours a nice selection of craft beers from bottles and exceptionally clean,
rotating taps. In terms of music, the relaxing, attractive bar offers live jazz
and other music selections on a regular basis. The pub, located one block
behind Trappeze on West Clayton Street, invites everyone for a visit.

* AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEK
America's small and independent craft brewers celebrate the final days of the
annual American Craft Beer Week (May 11-17), a national celebration
highlighting the culture and contributions of craft beer. These brewers want
the week to inspire beer enthusiasts to declare their independence by
supporting breweries that produce fewer than two million barrels of beer a year
and are independently owned. What can you do for Craft Beer Week? Visit a
brewery or brewpub, try a six pack of a new U.S. microbrew, host a beer styles
tasting at your home, and watch the "I Am A Craft Brewer" video (posted near
the top of http://www.classiccitybrew.com). This excellent, short video
represents the camaraderie, character and integrity of the American craft
brewing movement. Cheers, Prost, Slainte - enjoy a great beer with personality
and flavor as you watch the video!
