I will be interested to hear if the V5 update resolves your TouchBraille issues
as this will confirm the value of having an in-place KeySoft re-install without
completely wiping the device. While I was having problems with my physical
keyboard, I was pretty sure that it wasn't a hardware issue as it would work
sometimes and not work others, and installing the V5 update brought my keyboard
back to life. I suspect that most issues you experience with the Touch are not
hardware issues unless there is an obvious hardware malfunction, since KeySoft
seems to pretty much control everything and it seems very unstable.

Hello, Sam:
I find it very interesting that you also have experienced TouchBraille behaving
eratically at times. I actually sent my Touch in for repairs, was told that I
had a problem with the internal SD card, and got the unit back only to discover
that the same problem still occasionally occurs. Like you, I suspect that this
is a software issue. Those of us who are experiencing this should probably keep
really good notes, and report this to Humanware if possible. I do understand
that problems of this nature can be difficult to reproduce in the testing
center.
One of the things mentioned in the release notes is global hotkey support for
some supported media players. I am looking for a good media player that allows
tracks from my music library to be played in the background while I am doing
other things. Google Play Music does not operate in the background for me. Can
anyone recommend a good, accessible media player?

I upgraded to Version 5 and my hardware keyboard started working again. Prior
to this I was experiencing degredation where the hardware keyboard gradually
ceased functioning and I was getting constant alerts about apps crashing. I
was even having trouble with the TouchBraille keyboard where finger
recognition wouldn't work and spurious characters were being entered without
action on my part. It was getting to the point where I was ready to do a
factory reset. Updating to version 5 appeared to fix this issue. I suspect
that parts of KeySoft or Android had become corrupted. I tried running a file
system repair and deleting my cache in the boot diagnostic menu but these did
not fix my issues. I'm glad I was able to resolve them without having to wipe
my Touch, but it was extremely frustrating to have to wait for a KeySoft
update in order to resolve them. I would like to see a feature where an
in-place re-install could be performed without having to wipe the entire unit
if you can still operate it. Clearly this is possible since this is how the
updates are performed, but I would like to be able to re-install KeySoft
without having to wait for a KeySoft update to be released. With individual
app updates being released in the future, I suspect that entire KeySoft
updates that re-install core system files will not be released very
frequently.

I wonder ware you can get the release notes. I no longer have my unit any
more do to a problem I had a few months ago which is off topic so will leave
it at that.
