[BNU] braillenote battery issues

Hi
My brother is having an issue with his braille-note's battery. It's a very old
battery, and he is due to get a new one any day now. As a result, he has had to work
with the ac adaptor plugged in for much of the day. At home, he is able to work with
the adaptor fine, but at school, it will randomly just say "ac adaptor off" and then
totally shut down. I don't know why but I suspect it has something to do with the
outlets at school. He also said that the braille-note will act dead, then read at 75
percent when plugged in again.
Any suggesttions for him while he still has this battery?
