The ElBraille is an underpowered Windows tablet. I wouldn’t get that either.
Sure, it sounds good. A whole Windows computer just for us, with JAWS and
Braille. But as always, the devil is always in the details. The BrailleNote
isn’t completely tied to 4.4, either. It uses different versions of different
functions, so maybe the core is 4.4, and most of the accessibility functions
are 4.4, but the video frame may be from a newer version, which is how we’re
able to use the Youtube app. I know, bad example, but that shows the bandaging
Humanware has to do with Android to make it nearly as accessible as it is on
the Touch.

Hi all,
I think this might be a little off topic, but I would be interested to hear
about the lvbraille which is a windows 10 device with a focus 14 braille
display attached. On the topic of the touch, I think it is a shame that it
is running 4.4 KitKat. Which has been out of support for so long that
getting apps that will work with it is slim to nune. I just assume use my
phone which is using android 7.0 and is up to date as far as I can see. I
owned a touch for a few years until reasontly when it would no longer charge
and I had no way to get it repaired and after I had an insident where coffee
got spilled on it, it cost me over $1300 just to get it fixed and on top of
that I had to have the internal sd card replaced after the unit became
corrupted without worning. Just my take on the mater for what its worth.

I agree. If the state could take this unit back and give me a Focus 14 or
another small, Braille display, I’d do that in a heart-beat. I regret my
decision to get the Touch, and only use it as a Braille display for the
iPhone. Maybe in a year or two, or three, the Touch may grow up a little,
but Humanware is a mature company, and should know better than to give us a
product that is less useful than the one it replaced.

Hi all,
Now this is what this list was meant for. This is an excellent post, and I
hope that somebody will come out of the shadows and talk about these things
frankly.
My experience has been with the FaceBook app. When it works, it does so,
sort of, though I have never tried to post to a group. You have to use
Messenger to post messages, and I either get alerts that Messenger has
stopped working or I can't find how to send my messages much less find
anything sent to me.
I devoutly hope that *somebody* will step up and start answering these
questions. The supposed strength of the Touch tablet was that these
mainstream apps are supposed to work on it. Well, they may, but a modicum
of assistance in making them work would be appreciated. Hey, Humanware,
how about some webinars on popular apps like FB and Messenger and Skype and
so on?
I'd really like to know why my Touch keeps yawping about x-program has
stopped working wait or OK. I can't get anything done!
I can't live without my planner. I have student appointments, recurring
webinars or seminars, choir rehearsals and so on. I can't live without my
planner. The planner in the touch is a joke! You can't schedule events
that are recurring with any accuracy, especially those that occur monthly.
They're always off by two or three days. It's a joke! I keep my planner
on the Apex because it's simple, accurate and it *does* work. I've had
several occasions when I've noticed a monthly recurring appointment has
been scheduled for two or three days earlier than the proper date. I've
had to edit the appointment so that it was correct. What's with this, eh?

Hi, all--
Just curious what your preferred method is for accessing Facebook on the
Touch. I've tried the web view of m.facebook.com, but it appears to be
different from its original layout on the Apex. For example, I am unable
to find the Groups link, and my messages do not display, but rather a Play
Store link for Messenger. Is it easier to use the mobile site or the app?
Also, is there a way to view messages and groups from the online version?
Thanks for any tips,
