[brailleblaster] *.so files in Linux

When I recompile and install a new version of liblouis and liblouisutdml, do
I have to copy the new *.so file into the dist/native/lib directory? The
output from file says they are dynamically linked. Are they just symbolic
links? Are they always the same as the actual files in the /usr/local/lib
directory without copying the newer versions?
