I think it is working correctly. Vic is doing it using the command-line method 
and it uses preferences.cfg. When I use Save-as it looks pretty good.

I guess my only concern at this point is that it may be confusing to users who 
might expect the command-line and GUI methods to produce the same result.

I assume that the config parameter contains the value nimas.cfg . This should 
work. What are you actually getting?
