The world is awash with data — how will visual interfaces help us make sense
of it all?
You’re invited to see how 50 students in MIT’s 6.894 class have answered this
question by developing new visualization tools and techniques. Their 30
projects cover a range of topics including machine learning, income
inequality, social justice, gerrymandering, and network analysis. Example
projects include:
- Cartographers of North Korea
- Yemen Calling
- Nonprofit Cliqueing
- Visualization Linting
- A Brief History of Territorial Exchange
- Authoring Interactive Dashboards via Direct Manipulation
- Visualizing the MoMA collection
- The Embedding Comparator
- City Mapping: What’s the best neighborhood to live in?
- Live, Collaborative Interactive Visualization
- The Fading American Dream
- The Network Wrangler
- Visualizing Access to Education
- Visualizing Redistricting & Gerrymandering
This is a great chance to meet students active in visualization and user
interface design. For more information about this year's course, please
