Hi,
I read about this new rust compiler in C++
https://github.com/thepowersgang/mrustc
being able to bootstrap rustc and cargo
but (unfortunately?) with ambitions to go beyond that
in any case it can help to connect part of the software ecosystem to
be bootstrappable
It can help in the longrun, but it still requires rustc at this
point:
https://github.com/thepowersgang/mrustc/issues/29
So it'll require some rust hackers to help out directly
at mrustc.
As I wrote here:
https://bootstrapping.miraheze.org/wiki/Rust
this project, mrustc, is also the rustc idea of offering a way
to build rustc.
I have found some alternative cargo implementations, but so
far I didn't recocnize cargo as a problem.
Or am I wrong?
Ciao
Bernhard M.
