John,

You're correct. Books must be sent to Bookshare directly from a publisher
or author. Volunteers can not submit anything they do not scan themselves.

There's a form on the website under the link For Authors and Publishers
which an author can fill out to give Bookshare permission to distribute
books directly from them then send his/her books directly to Bookshare.

I'd suggest contacting John Glass if you need any assistance. His e-mail
address is John.G@xxxxxxxxxxxx, or you can call him at 650-475-5440.

Gerald

Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Submitting books from author

I may be getting books from their authors in various file formats. How
can I submit them to bokshare? I don't think I can just upload them. Who
could I contact at Bookshare about this? What should I tell the authors
about submitting their own books?

Thanks,
