The Fiction Old and New book group will be discussing The Hate U Give by
Angie Thomas, DB87441, on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 9:00 p.m.
eastern time, 6:00 p.m. pacific time in the Book Nook Room of the
Accessible World site, www.accessibleworld.org
Note that the you in the title of this book is spelled just U not y-o-u.
In her award winning debut novel, author Angie Thomas shows us many sides of
a fatal shooting by a police officer of an unarmed black teenager. This
story originated from the author's own experiences growing up in Jackson,
Mississippi and hearing of her mother's witnessing of the death of Medgar
Evers. Please join us on Friday January 5 for a spirited discussion of the
state of racial relations in America today.
