Hi Jake, Thanks, I did receive the Million little pieces email, and the file does work now -- hurray! The file I was trying to upload does in fact have an apostrophe in the file name, so I will try uploading with a new name. I have also run across the synopsis too long problem, and sometimes I receive a message telling me this is the problem, and sometimes I don't. I think the issue stands that if this site is to rely on volunteer submissions, the process ought to be as user friendly and intuitive as possible. The only exception I have ever seen to this is the filename field. If the filename has an apostrophy in it, the system will return an error message, but won't indicate that the filename was the problem. From a programmer standpoint I can see how this may have been overlooked in testing the site when it was first created. Apostrophys are generally the only escape character allowed in filenames and so depending upon how you handle that filename, if you forget to handle apostrophys, something fails. Others have said that the short synopsis field won't give an error message if your text is too long, however, every time my text has been too long there has been an error. You might have to be in your screen readers regular mode for the error message to be read. BTW, did you get my email about A Million Little Pieces and did the new copy work for you? I have uploaded many books before, so I know the usual tricks that trip up submissions at the upload page. Is there something wrong with the site? It sure would be nice if the error message actually told you what the error is -- without such a cue, it is merely guesswork, and extremely frustrating. It seems as though the least the website could do is tell you in which field the error is occurring instead of just saying there is an error somehwere, and good luck figuring out where it is. I don't have the time to play "where's Waldo" with book submissions. I want to submit books and contribute to the bookshare community, but if I am going to be continually frustrated by doing so, I will just keep my books to myself and bookshare can get stuffed.
