Hi Lori,
I’ve been using Windows Live Mail for years, and the last time I had that kind
of problem, it was because the email server I use was down. But if you are able
to get mail for his account, then that seems an unlikely scenario.
The only other suggestion I can offer off the top of my head is for him to go
through his email account settings, Properties, and make sure that all the port
numbers for incoming and outgoing messages, whether or not the server requires
authentication, and whatever else is in there, are correct. For my email
provider, what all those settings should be is easily accessible, and hence,
easily checkable. If it is for his as well, then he should check those settings
and make sure something didn’t get inadvertently changed by Windows Live Mail.
Did he try rebooting? It’s amazing sometimes what a simple reboot will fix!
Don’t know why that would fix it, but it’s always worth a try.
If I think of anything else before hearing back that it’s resolved, I’ll post
again.

Hello,
I wonder if anyone on this list uses Windows Live Mail an might be of help.
Suddenly, and with no reason, Mike’s Email client Windows Live Mail persists in
asking for his password. Even though he enters it correctly the program will
not accept the password and will not allow for receiving or sending emails.
I use Outlook as my email client and have no problems receiving emails to his
email account.
The Microsoft Disability Line will not help with Mike’s problem because
Microsoft no longer supports Windows Live Mail. Their solution is to upgrade
from Office 2010 to either Office 365 or to Office 2016.
I believe that this is a small problem with a solution if someone has had the
same problem or any suggestions.
