Envision is a smartphone app that enables visually impaired people to access
visual information around them like text, objects and faces independently.
With Envision, visually impaired users are now shopping in supermarkets,
using public transport, reading menu cards in restaurants, recognising their
friends, finding their belongings and so much more, all on their own.
Karthik talks about how Envision's journey began in a school for the blind
in India and how it came to life through a research project in the
Netherlands. The talk also includes live demonstration and explanation of
all the current features and functions of the app. He also talks extensively
about what new features are in the pipeline, their expansion plan for
