Hi,
The bookshare.org newspapers are provided through NFB Newsline. If a state does
not currently provide funding for people to access Newsline in that state, then
Bookshare subscribers from that state can not access the papers. Your friend
should contact the local NFB affiliate and ask them to get newsline in his
state.

I have a friend who just joined Bookshare. While he is happy to be able to
download books, he is extremely unhappy and yes even angry, that he is not
allowed to download any of the newspapers from the site. He didn't quote me
the message he got verbatim, but it said something like, he was denied access
to the papers and magazines because Georgia did not contribute to the Newsline
or something.
This is quite unfair; he paid his subscription fee, he should be able to have
access to the newspapers and magazines just as any one else is allowed it.
Perhaps I am not real clear on why because as I said he didn't tell me the
exact wording of the message he got but this should be fixed.
I am sure not everybody's state has a paper represented up there, do they?
And even if they don't the point is he is a Bookshare subscribed member so he
should not be denied access to anything on the site.
