All, I've just submitted for vlaidation the following: The Songlines, by Bruce Chatwin, Penguin, 1987. This is one of the most celebrated, discussed, and even controversial books in the pantheon of travel writing. Chatwin explores the world of the Australian aboriginal people while grappling with the big question of man's nautre -- basically, are humans nomadic, or sedentary by nature? What does Chatwin think? This is a must read for anyone who loves travel writing and philosohpy roled into one incredible book. I am excited about this important work being added to the collection.
