, Linda, and welcome to the list! I can't help you with your Bookshare/Braille Note questions, because I don't have a Braille Note, but I did want to welcome you here. I'm sure you'll find plenty of people here who can and would be glad to help you, and I hope, once you get past the initial startup, you'll love Bookshare and this list as much as we all do. Take care. My name is Linda Lupaczyk. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, I will be able to be of assistance to some of you, but right now, I need some help getting this Bookshare thing up and running. I have only had a Braille Note for a month and am figuring out how to use it on my own. As you all know, that is possible to do because the manual is built right into the Braille Note. I am having trouble getting Bookshare to work, though, and it is probably because there is something I don't understand about how it works and the order in which to do things to make it work. I read the instructions in the Braille Note manual and thought I understood them well enough to get started. I got the program for unpacking books on my computer, and I downloaded the software, but when I tried to download some books and read them, I couldn't get anything to come up on my Braille Note, nor could I read anything using JAWS or the Daisey reader. When I go into my account information on the Bookshare site, it says I have downloaded three books, but I can't even find them on my system! I got a sighted computer expert to take a look at this, and He couldn't get it to work either. He said it looks like a very easy thing to do, but for some reason, at the point where one is supposed to "click on 'yes' to make everything work together, no "yes" window appears. What could be going on? I have paid for my subscription and got confirmation from Bookshare.org that I am a member, so it isn't because I'm not paid up or anything like that. Did any of the rest of you have trouble getting started? If so, do you remember what was wrong and how you fixed it? I will appreciate any and all feedback.
