Hi all,
Could not think of how to make the subject more clear. I have a quicktionary reading pen, which is a marvelous device for those with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, likely low vision print disabilities, and anyone wanting to learn to speak a language other than their own even English. The device is a hand held scanner that speaks aloud each word individually, or in sentences for slower exploration, providing meanings too. it can do this in different languages, has a 400 thousand word database and runs on batteries. it has an ear piece for quiet reading. The screen is a bit small, but the print can be magnified I think. I bid on it at an auction to help a friend and never used it. found it while packing to move and would like to see it go to someone who can use it, and for far less than they are apparently sold by their company wiscom technologies. does anyone know of a mailing list where individuals with reading challenges seek products? I will post it on the few broader lists I know, but thought I would ask here.
write privately as I guess this is somewhat off topic.
Karen
