Afternoon all,
I'm happy to announce that with the help of Sr. Dolores Dean, we've been able to add Understanding The Revised Mass Texts by Turner to the Bookshare collection.
Now this may not sound like a huge thing to many of you, and if you aren't following the Roman Catholic path of spirituality, it will mean absolutely nothing. However, I'm making this announcement because for those who do, having a copy of The New Roman Missal, its texts anyway, is rather an important deal. You see, The Powers That Be in the Catholic Church have been working for some years to make revisions in the text of the liturgy, prayers and dialog, used in The Mass. The Mass is the name of the service Catholics attend every Sunday. This new translation has changed the words of a good portion of the prayers we recite at Mass and what the priest says too. Our sighted friends get little booklets every time they go into church these days. They have the revised prayers in them. I'm happy to tell you that Sr. Dolores and I have collaborated to offer you a pamphlet which contains these revised prayers. You can now download this pamphlet and have all the same info your sighted friends have. Not only that, this pamphlet offers you an explanation of why each change was made, something I found really helpful.
Now, if you want hard copy braille, you can get a copy of the same deal from Xavier Society in New York City. Xavier also has the revised translation of The Bible on twenty CD's.
However, if you are looking for the revised text in a pamphlet form which you can copy to a BrailleNote or other device, braille or whatever, you've got it. Happy reading folks.
