Microsoft is offering a bunch of their manuals and books on their products for free right now. The books come in a variety of electronic formats, and I don't know how accessible they are because of that. The formats vary by book, but include XPS, PDF, EPUB, MOBI, and DOC. Some books are available in all of those formats, some only in one or two of the formats.
Most are highly technical, but the content varies widely, and there are some general user books such as "Welcome to Windows 7."
There are two separate links, with different books at each link. A total of 88 different titles are offered, all free to download.
