Instead of using the Browse New Books link on Bookshare's website, try using the following link which takes advantage of Bookshare's Advanced Search to browse the most recent books. It will only list books written in English and will let you go back as far as you want. It also creates the list of books directly from the database instead of pulling up a web page which is only updated once a day, so it will show you the latest books as they are added to the collection instead of making you wait a day before finding out about the latest new books. Browse New Books - English Only <http://www.bookshare.org/web/BooksByAdvancedSearch.html?titlestring=&author string=&sort=4&language=en&quality=0&category%5B%5D=0&operation=submit&submi t=Search&count=100> If you add the link to your favorite web pages, then you can browse the new books this way any time you want. Also, if you're using JAWS to read the results from Advanced Search, you can move quickly from book to book using the keys for moving from paragraph to paragraph: Ctrl-Up and Ctrl-Down. First, why do they do the tables like they do? I have to move cursor down 7 times for each new title I see. Wouldn't it be much easier, considering that all screen readers now read tables very easily, to have title, author, etc. across the top of the table and then list the books down the table one per each line? Secondly, I wish I could browse more than 100 recent books. I don't make it to the site every day, and sometimes when I reach the site I know there are more than 100 books that have been added, and I miss browsing a lot of the new titles. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Grandma Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx> To: <bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2006 1:02 AM Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Re: New books Yes. They should be in Browse New Books under Browse books tomorrow afternoon. That's when Gustavo puts them there, but Jake gets the list earlier somehow, and I take it from Jake's site so peopple will have it earlier. If you search by title or author, though, under Advanced Search, you'll find the books and can download them. They have been added into the collection.
