Hi:

Again, I recommend exploring the Options menu. Under that good old General
Tab, there's a box that says, "Send File Name as title." If that is checked,
it'll announce the title as it appears in the File Name. However, if it is
unchecked, then it'll announce the title from the text. So, in that case, it's
going to take the title from the first line of the text. So, if it's not
there, then it can't announce it. If you are making your own books, then you
either need to put it inside the first line of the file and uncheck that box,
or you can leave it off as you are doing and make sure the file name is the
exact title. We have it both ways because there are times when you'd want to
choose how the title is read.

For more information, please consult the User's Manual.

Hope that helps.

Pamela
