We discussed this once before and I'd like to bring it up =
again...replacing
those settings that emit beeps with spoken values. For instance, if I =
alter
the volume using D or F, I get "Faster" or "Slower," but if I open the
settings, there's a numeric value there. Could this value; and the one =
for
rate; be announced as these are changed on the fly instead of through =
the
settings function? Also, the ability to press 5 while in Settings>Pitch =
and
then enter a numeric value in the same way we can enter a page number =
would
be cool. Because of hearing problems, I need a very low pitch and =
whenever
the unit resets to its defaults, I have to do a lot of button-pushing to =
get
it where I like it. None of these are show-stoppers, of course, just =
wibni
stuff. Thanks for the great job you folks are doing.=20

I have two suggestions for future firmware updates.

1. How about a way to turn the unit off so that hitting the buttons=20
involves no power usage? Even with the ability to turn off the beep, =
the=20
buttons still cause power drain for ten seconds or so after being=20
pressed. If the bookport is being carried in a back pack, that adds up =
to=20
a lot of battery drain.

2. Any thought of being able to adjust the speed of audio files? Some=20
readers are slow enough it would be nice to be able to adjust the=20
speed. Not a big deal, but just a thought.

Thanks,
Richard
