[bookport] false alarm (was Re: Re: no response from bookport problem?)

Hi List!
I believe I am over the worst of it++++++++had not had any warning that my
batteries were low, but when I checked them in my tester, the batteries were
quite dead.
Lost some files on the card, but nothing that I didn't have another copy of
on my hard drive.
Then I noticed there was very little space free on the card, despite losing
files. So I reformatted the card and all appears to be fixed now.
The biggest mystery for me was that it didn't tell me the batteries were
low. I was using the recommended batteries and not rechargeable.
