Another note, wait a few seconds after hitting the D E and F keys, if your wearing headphones, the unit will beep. Then you know settings have been saved. You can also change the batteries when the unit is off- when you hear that beep after about 10 seconds of inactivity- but this is rather unpredictable. I do it, and it works for me, but do it at your own risk.
