yeah I know what you mean. I just got my book port last thursday and I was messing around with it and couldn't figure out how to get out of a folder too. thankfully there's a help button on the machine otherwise I would have had to go find the manual on my computer and I was nowhere near the computer at the time.
Not sure how many know about this, maybe all of you do, I'm not sure, but there is a really excellent tutorial on the bookport and it's on the blindcooltech website http://www.blindcooltech.com - you'll have to go look through the archive of the website but if you just do a control-f and search for the words book port on that site you'll find it. Blind cool tech is a podcast and there is a lot of really cool things on that site besides the bookport tutorial but that's kind of getting a bit off topic for this list, but definitely check it out it's really great.

Yes it worked thank God! Boy you saved me lol. Do not know why the memo folder wouldn't close. Boy was I scared for a minute but then realized it probably didn't really delete. Just didn't know how to get back to it. Thank you!

Press the star key and the 0 together to close out your memo folder. it should return you to your root folder where presumably you put the book you were reading. If that doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you heh

help! I somehow think I must have deleted the bookport manual and the book I was reading. all I get now is the memo I recorded in the memo folder. don't know how I did this. went to the first file and next thing I knew, everything was gone except the memo I recorded. Help!!! Thanks.

Make sure the book you want is open.
Press B and E keys simultaneously (just a short press of the keys);
BP will tell you the name of the book you want to delete and confirm that is what you want deleted;
Press B+E again;
BP will confirm you deleted the file.

Hello. The subject says it all. How do I go about deleting an audio book file from my book port? I read the manual and it says to use b and e to delete. How do I do this? Thanks in advance for your help.
I am a newby so I'll have lots of questions.
