I may not be remembering clearly, but I thought it was so you could query the time while playing a file or get your battery status or determine the percentage left on your card. In this latter case, if one has a card dedicated to music, then there is no way to get statistics from the unit unless the voice can be heard over a playing file. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Walt Smith" <WSmith@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 02, 2005 11:55 AM Subject: [bookport] Re: Volume question I'm not sure that I ever saw it work, but perhaps I didn't understand the intent of the feature.=20 -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gary Wunder Sent: Wednesday, March 02, 2005 12:42 PM To: Bookport Subject: [bookport] Volume question Didn't we have a feature implemented recently where the volume of the system voice was made louder than the volume of the currently playing MP3 file so that feedback about controls could be given by the system voice? I am not detecting this increased system voice volume in Beta 14.
